Window Tint in Las Vegas

Heat-Rejecting Film in Shades That Meet Nevada Law

Ace Built Automotive installs window tint on cars, trucks and SUVs, foreign and domestic, at our shop at 5390 S. Decatur Blvd, Suite 3, Las Vegas, NV 89118. Customers come in from Enterprise, Spring Valley, Henderson, Summerlin and North Las Vegas.

Before any film goes on, we check the shade you want against Nevada’s limits for each window and talk through which film fits how you use the vehicle. Every tint job starts with a free quote.

Car Window Tinting for Las Vegas Heat

Window tint in Las Vegas is mostly about heat. Sun through untinted glass heats a parked cabin quickly and makes the AC work harder. Automotive window tinting reduces the heat and UV coming through the glass and cuts glare.

Why Tint Matters More in Las Vegas

  • Parked cars in Las Vegas sit in strong sun much of the year, and cabin heat builds within minutes.
  • UV exposure fades upholstery and cracks dashboards over time.
  • Low winter sun on east-west drives along the 215 creates heavy glare.

Types of Window Tint We Install

Carbon tint

Rejects more heat than dyed film, holds its color well and does not affect signals. A middle option on price.

Tint Shades and Nevada Limits

Shade is measured in VLT, the percentage of visible light the window lets through. Lower numbers are darker. Nevada sets different limits for different windows, so many vehicles end up with more than one shade.

Windshields can take a tint strip along the top of the glass only. Our guide to Nevada tint laws covers the windshield measurement, medical exemptions and what a tint ticket means.

50% VLT

Light. Mainly heat and UV control with little change in look. Legal on all side windows.

35% VLT

The darkest shade allowed on the front side windows in Nevada, within a 7 percent tolerance. The limit is measured through the film and the glass together, so the film’s rating alone isn’t the final number.

20% VLT

Darker, with more privacy. For the rear side windows and the back glass.

5% VLT (limo)

Nearly black. Rear side windows and back glass only, and the hardest to see through at night.

Tint, Wrap or PPF?

Tint goes on the glass and handles heat, UV and glare. A color change or protection from rock chips is a job for vinyl wrap or paint protection film, which we also install. See our car wrap and PPF services.

How a Tint Job Works at Our Shop

1. Shade check

Tell us the look you want. We confirm which shades are legal for each window on your vehicle.

2. Film choice

We go over ceramic, carbon and dyed film and quote the job before work starts.

3. Glass prep

Every window is cleaned before film goes on, since dust trapped under tint shows as specks or bubbles.

4. Install

Film is cut to fit each window on your vehicle and applied to the inside of the glass.

5. Cure and aftercare

Before you leave, we go over the cure time for your film. Most films need a few days before the windows are rolled down, and a light haze while the film cures is normal.

Why Drivers Bring Their Tint Work to Ace Built

Because we also handle repairs, lift kits and custom work, one shop can take care of the whole vehicle. Recent tint work on Mercedes and Bentley vehicles is in our gallery.
